Our House Rules
At the Harriet Hancock Center, we strive to create an inclusive and safe environment for all. Our house rules apply for all of our programming and drop in hours. These rules were created to help establish clear expectations for behavior revolving around respecting boundaries, the space, and each other.
Each peer-support group may have additional rules and group norms to help facilitate open and safe dialogue.
Respect all people, our space, and boundaries.
No interrupting or talking over speakers.
Be mindful of your language and volume.
Keep all conversations open and welcoming.
Be respectful of confidentiality.
Ask for consent before touch (high-fives, hugs, etc.)
Use kind and honest communication.
Discussions may be serious and potentially triggering. It’s okay to step away from the discussion or from the group at any time.
