The Legacy Gala 🍾

The Legacy Gala 🍾

The Legacy Gala is an event designed to celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.

At its core, The Legacy Gala serves as a platform to honor the remarkable efforts and achievements of those who have dedicated themselves to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and fostering inclusion within the community. Through awards, speeches, and recognition, the gala aims to shine a spotlight on the invaluable work of these individuals, acknowledging their enduring impact and inspiring others to continue the legacy of activism and advocacy.

From community leaders to allies and advocates, The Legacy Gala brings together a diverse array of voices and talents, united in their commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all. Through this celebration of achievement and solidarity, the gala not only honors the past but also paves the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.

2024’s theme was “Hollywood Glamour”. Keep an eye out on our social media or join our email list for more information about the 2025 Legacy Gala!

Queer Prom 🎉

Queer Prom 🎉

Midlands Queer Prom is an inclusive and affirming event for youth in grades 6-12 designed for LGBTQ+ youth to celebrate their identities in a safe and supportive environment. Unlike traditional proms, which may not always cater to the diverse needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, Midlands Queer Prom provides a space where attendees can express themselves authentically, free from judgment or discrimination. Prom is completely free for attendees and includes a night of catered dinner, music, dancing, drag performances, and more!

Queer Prom is not only a celebration but also a statement of solidarity and empowerment, fostering a sense of belonging and community among LGBTQ+ youth who may face challenges or isolation in other social settings. It serves as a reminder that everyone deserves to feel valued and accepted for who they are.

TDOR 🕯️

TDOR 🕯️

Transgender Day of Remembrance is recognized on November 20th every year. The HHC hosts a vigil dedicated to honoring individuals within the transgender community whose lives have been lost to acts of anti-transgender violence. This event is intended to act as a reminder of those who we’ve lost, and as a reminder of just how much advocacy work needs to be done in order to achieve justice and equality in their memories.

Queer Pop-Up Closet 👕

Queer Pop-Up Closet 👕

The Queer Pop Up Closet event was first hosted in May of 2024 as a way to provide easily affordable and affirming clothing to the community! It is hosted at the Center over a weekend in the fall and spring. Clothes are donated by the community, for the community and are completely free to take.

Not only are there free clothes, but queer owned businesses will have the opportunity to sell to the local community and promote their small businesses. We have try on rooms available as well as volunteers to help with fitting and styling.

Keep an eye out on our social media for the next closet and be sure to bring a bag and a friend!
