Folks from our community frequently present research opportunities that serve to improve the lives of the LGBTQ+ population. Here, you can find open studies and participate.
University of Houston | LGBTQ+ OCD
The purpose of the research is to provide OCD researchers and clinicians with more information about the needs of LGBQ+ people with OCD to improve treatment. To be eligible, you must: (1) identify as LGBQ+, (2) live in the United States or a U.S. territory, (3) be age 18 or older, and (4) have a professional or self-diagnosis of OCD.
University of South Carolina | Trans Research Advisory Board Participation
The following is an opportunity to participate on the advisory board of a research study. Participants will earn a stipend of $300 upon completion. The link below takes you to the advisory board sign-up. This is an opportunity for trans folks oversee the research process.
LGBTQ+ Ages 55-75 | Florida State University
Florida State University’s research team is conducting an interview study that focuses on retirement planning among LGBTQ people in the US. They are looking for people who can share their stories in Zoom interviews.
Nonbinary Teachers | Coastal Carolina University

Queer Men of Color | University of Nebraska Lincoln
This research aims to provide essential insights affirming prevention and response efforts. This survey asks about some of your identities including sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex assigned at birth. Project Star-M asks for this information so the researchers can learn about how experiences differ among people with different identities, and how to best support people of different backgrounds and experiences.
Minority Stress | Louisiana State University
This study examines Minority Stress and Suicidal Thoughts among Sexual Minority People. The goal of this project is to examine how daily minority stress relates to overall mood and suicidal thinking in sexual minority people. Participants take a screener survey, which is less than five minutes long.
Children’s National Hospital & VU University| Trans Youth
The study is open to transgender and gender-diverse youth who are 11-16 years old. The study is conducted fully online. Families are compensated $330 for their time. The questions included in the study focus on strengths, areas of challenge, and hopes for the future. The ultimate goal of this work is to inform improved care for youth in the United States, including greater access to the supports youth may need. Openly Trans K12 Educators | University of South Carolina
Selected participants will complete one electronic survey, one in-person or virtual interview, and the possibility of one virtual group interview. Participants will recieve a $50-$100 amazon gift card upon completion.
